Introduction to PEEF

The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF), led by the Board of Directors, offers talented but needy students the opportunity to fulfill their dreams and desires while becoming partners in Pakistan’s development and welfare.

Since its inception in 2009, the PEEF has awarded more than 350,000 scholarships to students from Punjab and other provinces who are currently studying at public and private institutions and the Centre of Excellence.

Special Quota Scholarship

The PEEF has allocated 20% of its total scholarships to the Special Quota (SQ) category. Scholarships with a special quota are awarded in five categories. Scholarships are awarded in the following categories:

  • Orphans
  • Children of government servants in BPS 1 – 4 (children of both serving and retired govt. servants are eligible)
  • Special Children
  • Children from minorities
  • Children of Civilians Martyred in Terrorist Attacks

 

1) Matriculation / Secondry level

  • Applications for Secondary Scholarships are accepted through the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Education Authority, the Special Needs Education Directorate and partner institutions.
  • An advertisement will be published in the newspapers and deserving. students will be invited to apply for a Secondary Scholarship.
  • Applications received will be reviewed and suitable students selected based on scholarships awarded in each category.
  • Eligible students will complete and return the scholarship application forms to the PEEF.
  • All forms received will be reviewed and verified.
  • Scholarships are awarded based on performance lists by category and gender.
  •  Scholarships are awarded through the educational institutions where PEEF scholars are currently enrolled.

2) Intermediate and Graduation level

  • The advertisement will be published in the newspapers and deserving students will be invited to apply for scholarships at the intermediate and bachelor levels.
  • Applications received will be reviewed and suitable students will be selected based on scholarships awarded for each category and gender.
  • Information letters and scholarship application forms will be sent to the home addresses of eligible students.
  • Eligible students will complete the Scholarship Application Forms and return them to the PEEF.
  • All forms received will be checked and verified.
  •  Performance lists by category and gender are drawn up for the awarding of scholarships.
  •  Scholarships are awarded by the educational institutions where the PEEF scholarship holders are currently enrolled.

Master’s Level Scholarships for Student of Balochistan Province

The PEEF has awarded 30 Masters Scholarships to students from Balochistan public sector universities. To be eligible for PEEF scholarships, the student must have the following:

–  Balochistan domiciled.

– Have received at least 60% of the grades or at least CGPA 2.5 in BA/ B.Sc./ B.COM/ BS/ BBA, etc. in the annual examination of the last three years after the announcement of the scholarship.

– Insured admission as a full-time student in the current academic year after the announcement of the scholarship to a public sector university in Balochistan.

– Parents’ stated monthly income (from all sources) is Rupees 30,000 or less.

– No other scholarship awarded for a Master’s program.

– In addition to fulfilling the PEEF eligibility criteria, the prospective student must also fulfill the criteria of merit and necessity of the respective university.

For Special Quota Scholarships, the student must fall in at least one of the S.Q categories:

i. Orphans

ii. Children of officials in BPS-1 to BPS-4

iii. Children belonging to a minority religion

iv. Special children

v. Children of civilians martyred in terrorist attacks.

Note:

The children of government employees of BPS 1 – 4 are exempted from income limit criteria if salary is the only source of income.

Master’s Level Scholarships for Students Having FATA Domicile

The PEEF has awarded 15 additional Master’s scholarships to FATA students studying at a public university in Pakistan.

– FATA Domiciled.

At least 60% of the grades or at least CGPA 2.5 in the BA/ B.Sc./ B.COM/ BS/ BBA examination etc., which was conducted in the last three years of the call for the scholarship (annually).

– Guaranteed admission as a full-time student in the current academic year by announcing the scholarship at a public university in Pakistan.

– Parents’ stated monthly income (from all sources) is equal to or less than Rs.30,000.

– No other scholarship awarded for a Master’s program.

– In addition to fulfilling the PEEF eligibility criteria, the prospective student must also fulfill the criteria of merit and necessity of the respective university.

In the case of special fee scholarships, the student must be in at least one of the S.Q. categories:

i. Orphans

ii. Children of officials in BPS-1 to BPS-4

iii. Children belonging to a minority religion

iv. Special children

v. Children of civilians martyred in terrorist attacks.

Selection Process

– The Office of the Provincial/Territorial Secretary for Education acts as a coordinating body for the identification and selection of students for PEEF scholarships.

– The branch announces PEEF scholarships in national and local dailies to identify meritorious and deserving students.

– Applications are submitted via the PEEF Scholarship Application Forms.

– All applications received will be reviewed and assessed for merit.

– Meritorious and deserving students will receive scholarships from the PEEF.

Other Provinces, Azad Jammu Kashmir, FATA, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Gilgit Baltistan

The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) has awarded special scholarship quotas to meritorious and deserving students from other provinces, AJK, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, and Islamabad Capital Territory. These scholarships are awarded to public institutions wishing to undertake intermediate or postgraduate studies in their province or other educational institution in Pakistan.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate having provincial / territory / domiciled.
  • Passed final examination of Middle, Matriculation or Intermediate Examination held by the respective Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Annual Examination .
  • Secured at least 60% marks in the above mentioned examination.
  • Not availing any other educational scholarship during the respective academic year.

Passed these examination from Government Institution of respective province

  • Secured admission in a regular educational institution as a fulltime student in the same year as of passing the examination.
  • Monthly income of parents (from all sources) is equal to or less than Rs. 15,000/-.

For Special Quota Scholarships, the student must fall in at least one of the S.Q categories:
                i. Orphans
                ii. Children of government servants in BPS 1 – 4
                iii. Children belonging to minority religion
                iv. Special Children
                v. Children of civilians martyred in terrorist’s attacks
