Details of the Project

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved the 2014 PPP Act to create an enabling environment for the identification and implementation of public-private partnership (PPP) projects. The PPP Act provides a means to channel private investment into socially, economically and financially beneficial projects that the provincial government cannot undertake because of its limited resources.

The PPP Support Unit is proposed to facilitate the effective selection and implementation of PPP projects by the Departmental PPP Committee, the PPP Unit and PPP Nodes. The PPP Support Unit is launched taking into account the provincial government’s capacity constraints for the smooth, efficient and timely processing of PPP projects.

Given that the way PPP projects are implemented is relatively new to the provincial government and that significant amounts of public funds will be allocated to these projects, a specialized and specialized unit must be created to protect and promote the rights and interests of the provincial government
