The Institute of Education (IOE) is fascinated to have received a donation from the family of our previous Director Sir Fred Clarke to provide scholarships for teachers from South Africa. Students from South Africa are invited to apply for Master’s degree programs at University College London, UK on fully funded IOE Clarke Scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria for IOE Clarke Scholarships

The Applicant should be:

  • Practicing school teachers
  • Nationals and residents in South Africa
  • Have an unconditional offer to study a campus-based masters’ degree at the UCL Institute of Education for entry in September / October 2020.

Please note that online courses are not eligible for these scholarships.

Benefits and Financial Coverage of IOE Clarke Scholarships

The Clarke scholarships are available for practicing school teachers from South Africa who wish to undertake a masters’ program at the UCL Institute of Education. The Scholarship includes:

  • Full tuition fee
  • Return ticket
  • Monthly stipend for accommodation and subsistence in London

If you fulfill all the criteria, please email IOEinternational@ucl.ac.uk to request a scholarship application form. Please include in your email your student ID number. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is 4 May 2020 (5 pm London time).
